Create your own raised garden
It has been a few years since we had a garden, and I’d forgotten how satisfying it was. So last Spring, I knew I wanted a garden here at our new home. I started by planning it out on paper: three 4’ x 8’ beds with a gravel border and a spot in the yard with full sun. My son and I built the beds over the course of a weekend. I compiled a free guide with a supply list and instructions, which you can get below. I loved watching it come to life, sharing the bounty with friends and family, and making meals using what we had grown. If you’ve been thinking about it, give it a try; it was so much fun! The cost was roughly $800 for all the materials, dirt, stone, edging, trellises, and plants. And It produced herbs and vegetables for several months. We easily grew several hundred dollars worth of food. This year, it’ll be just the cost of the plants/ seeds.
I’ll share some of my favorite things to make with our bounty from the garden.
Much love,
Susan
